Shawna Skinner, the founder and Director of the NAI Volunteer Community, is a seasoned Interpretation professional with nearly 15 years of experience as a volunteer interpreter, earning her CIG certification in 2010.

Shawna’s passion for connecting people with nature and her commitment to volunteerism have driven her to create a supportive and resource-rich community for interpreters nationwide.

Shaunna Costicov-McCombe is a dedicated professional in the field of Interpretation, bringing nearly 20 years of volunteer experience to her role, earning her Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) certification in early 2024.

Her deep passion for conservation drives her commitment to creating impactful programs, and she strongly believes in treating all volunteers as professionals, providing them with ample opportunities for growth and learning.

Hank Scarangella is a dedicated volunteer with a deep love for the outdoors and a long history of service at Friends of Garden of the Gods in Colorado, where he is passionate about the power of Interpretation as a means to both enjoy and protect natural spaces.

Hank values the countless hours that volunteers commit to their causes and is enthusiastic about providing new resources to support both volunteer-led organizations and front-line volunteers in their vital work.
